night! Access two private boat ramps right in the neighborhood and
you are located right on the water and in the heart of some the best
saltwater fishing in the state.
Come sit on our deck and watch the dolphins play! Drink coffee in
the shade every morning and toast the sunset over the bay every
night. Catch Redfish, Trout, Flounder and Blue Crab from your pier.

Rockport is the saltwater fishing and birding capital of the Texas
Gulf Coast. Just 45 minutes from Port Aransas and Corpus Christi,
and an hour from Padre Island, Rockport is a wonderful getaway.
Located on the Live Oak peninsula, Rockport is a haven of ancient
oak trees surrounded by water on three sides. Rockport is also home
to a thriving art community, and along with Fulton, a treasure trove
of old Texas history.
Redfish Retreat is in the Holiday Beach neighborhood, located on the
northeast shore of beautiful Copano Bay on Lamar Peninsula. We are
just across the Copano causeway from Rockport and Fulton on highway
35. The drive to town takes about 13 minutes. By boat you are just a
mile or so by water from famed Turtle Pen Point.
The water is 3-4 feet deep at our pier's end, perfect for bay
fishing, and boating - but no diving in! Copano bay is perfect for
fishing, but for swimming you have plenty of nearby beaches to
choose from. The Gulf of Mexico is 45 minutes away on Mustang Island
at Port Aransas, with Padre Island National Seashore a little
further. Rockport has a shallow, calm sandy beach right in town and
it's the state's only Blue Wave Beach. It's perfect for smaller
children since there is no current or surf.
You can catch your own dinner here or you can drive into Rockport, Fulton, Aransas Pass or even Corpus Christi for the freshest seafood around. Try the harbor in Fulton first, there's nothing like buying your shrimp right off the boat!
Copano Bay is a nursery bay, and is permanently closed to shrimp
boats throughout the year. As a result, the water is clearer, the fish more plentiful, and the fishing can be fantastic!
Rockport is also know as a birding destination. Here's a brief of the first 6 months of the Rockport Calendar of Birds:
